“Can I have sip you wada, momma?”

I can still see his chubby 3 year old cheeks, as he would hold up my big glass water bottle and ask, “Are dere yoils in dis?”

He would ask me every time he wanted a sip. And, yes, the answer every time was, “Yes, baby.”

I don’t LOVE the taste of water. I often have a hard time drinking all that I need to in the course of a day. So being able to flavor my water with something that is really safe and healthy as well as super quick and easy is such a blessing!

I always drink out of my glass water bottle. It’s all set to go when I am on the run. It has a cover, so if it gets tipped over, it doesn’t spill. And it’s glass, so I can safely add my doTERRA essential oils. The oils will break down most plastics, so when you add oils to your water, use glass or stainless steel. I always add a tiny bit of stevia to my water along with my oils as it helps to emulsify the oils into the water, and I find it brings out the flavor of the oils. Stevia doesn’t affect blood sugar levels which makes it a safe option.

I find that I do a better job of tracking my water intake if I use my water bottle exclusively. I know how many times I need to fill it up in the course of the day to get my recommended amount of water.

Drinking citrus oils is not only tasty, but gives a gently daily detox. Here are a few of my favorite as well as favorite combinations along with more information about each.

Lemon

Lime

Tangerine

Wild Orange

Lemon and Lime

Grapefruit and Cinnamon Bark – Cinnamon is super tasty but you only need a drop, it is a hot oil and you will want to add stevia to emulsify the oil.  Be sure to shake to blend.  If you get the oil on your lips, you will want to add a drop of fractionated coconut oil to your lips.

Slim and Sassy

I keep a little oil station by my water filter so everything I need to quickly fill and flavor my water is all right there. Keeping your oils accessible is probably the #1 secret to the oil life.
